![]() ![]() ![]() I make up silly songs about my dog that I sing to him as I walk by. Yes, it sounds very ridiculous but it works. So now I try to laugh for any small reason and sing when I'm frustrated. Constant negativity never got me anywhere. How often I waste my time lamenting over situations I can't change, or feeling frustrated by other people's actions or my own pain when I'm feeling unwell. You must laugh your way to heaven because tears won't get you there. I think my most favorite quote from this book is the one pictured above. Mother Angelica spoke to me in very plain language that I could understand. The purpose of suffering, living in the present moment, and making a leap of faith to do God's will all started to make sense to me. ![]() I borrowed her book, "Mother Angelica's Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality" from the library. I'm a dodo, so I could use my little bit of brains and talent for God too. Jesus didn't call a bunch of learned men to be disciples, he called a few fishermen, a tax collector, and so on-he called dodos. Here was this funny nun speaking bluntly about being a dodo for God. I watched an episode of Mother Angelica Live and was hooked. I browsed around seeing articles on the faith, television and radio shows to watch. On the homepage was a photo of this chubby smiling nun, which intrigued me. When I was going through RCIA I stumbled upon the EWTN website. ![]()
